How can we effectively improve the precision management of our injection molds during processing? First, we need to understand which issues affect the production and processing precision of injection molds.
1. Dimensional Precision
Refers to the actual working dimensions of the processed parts and the size and range of the part tolerances.
Precision is controlled by dimensional tolerances. Dimensional tolerances are the allowable deviations in part dimensions during the cutting process. When the basic dimensions are the same, the smaller the dimensional tolerance, the higher the dimensional precision.
2. Shape Precision
Refers to the degree of overlap between the actual geometric structure of the surface of the processed product parts and the ideal geometric model shape. There are six criteria for evaluating shape and precision, such as straightness, flatness, roundness, cylindricity, and line profile. The different shape precisions are controlled by shape tolerances. Except for roundness and cylindricity, all these shape tolerances are divided into 12 levels of precision requirements, with level 1 being high and level 12 being low.
